Kiwanis Objects
The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado.
By becoming a member of the Kiwanis Club of Vancouver, you can make a difference in the lives of children, seniors, and other residents in our community. We know that by providing children with access to programs which build self-confidence and encourage teamwork, we are helping them to develop their full potential and become the leaders of tomorrow. By providing affordable independent living housing to senior citizens, we provide aging residents of Vancouver with a much-needed community to belong to and dignity of living in an increasingly expensive city.
Our members come from all walks of life, enjoying the opportunity to volunteer and develop alongside like-minded people. Whether you would like to volunteer on a local level or beyond, our Club welcomes you!
The six permanent Objects of Kiwanis International were approved by Kiwanis club delegates at the 1924 Convention in Denver, Colorado.
To give primacy to the human and spiritual rather than to the material values of life.
To encourage the daily living of the Golden Rule in all human relationships.
To promote the adoption and the application of higher social, business, and professional standards.
To develop, by precept and example, a more intelligent, aggressive, and serviceable citizenship.
To provide, through Kiwanis clubs, a practical means to form enduring friendships, to render altruistic service, and to build better communities.
To cooperate in creating and maintaining that sound public opinion and high idealism which make possible the increase of righteousness, justice, patriotism, and goodwill.
